U-Pik Freelancer LLC ("U-Pik," "we," "us") provides the U-Pik Freelancer mobile app and website (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
• Account details, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
• Profile information, such as your role (picker or freelancer), skills, service descriptions, and any photos you choose to upload.
• Messages and other content you send or post through the app.
• Anything you send us when you contact support.
Information collected automatically:
• Location. The app is location-based, so we collect your device's location while you use the app to show you nearby freelancers or jobs. You can turn location access off in your device settings, but core features won't work without it.
• Device and usage information, such as device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, crash reports, and how you use app features.
2. How we use your information
• To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
• To show nearby users and enable messaging between them.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix errors.
• To analyze usage and improve the app.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To send you service messages, such as account notices and updates about how the Service works.
• To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
• Other users. Information in your profile, and your approximate location where the app displays it, is visible to other users as needed for the Service to work.
• Service providers who help us run the app, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud (hosting, authentication, analytics, and crash reporting). They may process data only on our behalf.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
• Business changes. If U-Pik is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the new owner.
4. Payments
Any paid subscription is billed through Google Play. Google processes your payment, and U-Pik does not collect or store your card or bank details. U-Pik does not process payments between pickers and freelancers.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing upikfreelancer@gmail.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account." We will process the request within 30 days. Some information may be kept longer where the law requires it.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices
You can review and update your profile in the app, turn off location access or notifications in your device settings, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
8. Children
The Service is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page.
